Lawrence RV announces major three-state expansion with Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans

Lawrence RV will bring Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans together across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria from MY27, supported by a new 13,000+ square-metre Melbourne hub.

Lawrence RV has announced one of the most significant expansions in its history, bringing Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans together across its Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria dealership network for MY27 models onwards.

At the centre of the expansion will be Lawrence RV Melbourne, opening on Monday 4 January 2027 and joining the existing Brisbane and Newcastle dealerships to create an integrated three-state network.

Located at 816 Cooper Street, Somerton, the new dealership will occupy more than 13,000 square metres and become the operational hub of Lawrence RV’s new-caravan business.

Lawrence RV Melbourne will also represent Option RV, further strengthening the Victorian dealership’s new-caravan offering with its lightweight off-road range and giving customers access to an even broader choice from the Somerton location.

Alongside new and used caravan sales, servicing and aftersales support, Melbourne will play a central role in the inspection, testing, preparation and quality control of new caravans before delivery across Victoria or transport to Brisbane and Newcastle.

Lawrence RV Group Managing Director Dale Lawrence said bringing the three brands together across the same network was a major milestone for the family-owned business.

“To have Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans all choosing to work with Lawrence RV across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria is an enormous vote of confidence in our team and where the business is heading,” Mr Lawrence said.

“We have been working towards a substantial Victorian operation for years. Melbourne is not simply a response to relocating Gold Coast — it is a major strategic move that changes how Lawrence RV can operate across the east coast.

“We now have three strong brands, three major markets and an experienced team working within one connected dealership network.”

Melbourne to become Lawrence RV’s new-caravan hub

The scale and location of Lawrence RV Melbourne will allow much of the new-caravan preparation to be completed in Victoria, close to the manufacturers.

The operation is being designed with the capacity to support more than 1,000 new-caravan pre-deliveries annually, including comprehensive inspection, operational testing and preparation before caravans are delivered locally or transported interstate.

For caravans destined for Brisbane and Newcastle, the objective is to complete the major pre-delivery process in Melbourne before transport.

This means potential issues can be identified and resolved while the caravan remains close to the manufacturer, with the interstate dealerships then focused on final checks, presentation and location-specific delivery requirements.

The model will also free additional workshop capacity in Brisbane and Newcastle for servicing, warranty work and ongoing support for existing owners.

Lawrence RV Newcastle Managing Director Jason Lawrence said the benefits would be tangible for both new and existing customers.

“For customers in Queensland and New South Wales, collecting their caravan in Melbourne can save significantly on interstate freight and turn collection into the start of their next holiday,” Mr Lawrence said.

“For those having their caravan delivered closer to home, the benefit is an even more comprehensive preparation process completed close to the manufacturer before the caravan travels interstate.

“That should mean better-prepared caravans on delivery day, while giving our Brisbane and Newcastle workshops more time to look after the customers already out using their vans.”

Three brands across three states

Representing Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans through Brisbane, Newcastle and Melbourne will allow Lawrence RV to operate the dealerships as a connected network rather than three locations working independently.

Customers will have greater flexibility around where they inspect, purchase and collect their caravan, while the dealerships can work together across stock, deliveries, servicing and warranty enquiries.

The common brand representation will also allow Lawrence RV to build deeper product expertise across its teams, coordinate technical and sales training and work more closely with each manufacturer on customer feedback, quality and product support.

“The biggest opportunity is what happens behind the scenes,” Dale Lawrence said.

“Our dealerships and manufacturers can work around the same products across three states, share knowledge and solve problems earlier.

“For customers, that means more choice, stronger product knowledge, better preparation and a more connected support network throughout ownership.”

Experienced team backing the expansion

Lawrence RV’s existing team is also playing an important role in the move.

Lawrence RV Gold Coast Managing Director Graham Lawrence and Tracey Lawrence will relocate to Melbourne, joined by Sean Roberts, who will step up from Sales Executive to Sales Manager, and fellow Lawrence RV team member Rowena Coleman, while Sales Executive Tony Lawrence will move to Lawrence RV Brisbane.

The planned moves will see the Gold Coast team retained within Lawrence RV across Melbourne and Brisbane, bringing established experience and customer relationships into both operations.

Lawrence RV also intends to offer employment opportunities to as many members of the existing Freestyle RVs team as possible, combining Lawrence RV experience with valuable local knowledge already established at the Somerton site.

Building on the success of Lawrence RV Gold Coast

The Melbourne expansion builds on what has been a highly successful chapter for Lawrence RV Gold Coast.

Lawrence RV Gold Coast Managing Director Graham Lawrence said the move was about building on that success rather than leaving it behind.

“Gold Coast has been a tremendous success for Lawrence RV, and we are extremely grateful to the customers, our team and the community who have supported us,” Mr Lawrence said.

“That success has helped put us in a position to take this next step, and we are particularly proud that our team is continuing with Lawrence RV across Melbourne and Brisbane.

“Our location is changing, but our commitment to our Gold Coast customers is not. We will continue looking after their existing orders and deliveries, with Brisbane providing their ongoing sales, service and warranty support.”

Customers will have the opportunity to meet the team and explore the current Gold Coast range at the Let’s Go Explore Caravan & RV Expo at Brisbane Showgrounds from 29 October to 1 November, before the remaining stock relocates to Lawrence RV Brisbane.

The Helensvale showroom will be open for customer deliveries and servicing until Wednesday 4 November 2026.

Lawrence RV Gold Coast will continue trading throughout the relocation, with existing orders, deposits, deliveries and customer commitments remaining with the existing business. Customers affected by changes to delivery, service or warranty arrangements will be contacted directly.

Queensland customers will continue to receive servicing and warranty support through Lawrence RV Brisbane’s Service Department at 194 Bruce Hwy Eastern Service Rd, Burpengary East QLD 4505.

Importantly, Atlas Caravans will continue to have a strong Queensland presence through Lawrence RV Brisbane, while also joining Lotus Caravans and Adventura Caravans as part of Lawrence RV’s broader three-state network.

Supporting Freestyle RVs customers

Freestyle RVs will continue trading with a focus on fulfilling its existing orders and supporting its current customers.

Lawrence RV Melbourne will work alongside Freestyle RVs and the relevant manufacturers to assist existing customers and orders throughout the transition, while Freestyle RVs continues to manage its existing customer commitments.

Lawrence RV also intends to retain as much of the existing Melbourne team as possible, preserving valuable product experience, local knowledge and existing customer relationships at the Somerton location.

From January 2027, new service bookings at the site will be handled through Lawrence RV Melbourne, with full dealership operations commencing on Monday 4 January 2027.

Further information about Lawrence RV Melbourne, opening arrangements, the MY27 Lotus Caravans, Adventura Caravans and Atlas Caravans ranges, and the Option RV range available in Melbourne will be announced ahead of commencement.
